Ka-Talk Sulong-Padayon 2026: Empowering the Voice and Synodality of Novaliches Youth

Ka-talk Phase 4 is ongoing now.

The youth of the local Church have gathered once again to listen, discern, and journey together as the Diocese of Novaliches Youth Ministry conducts Ka-Talk: Sulong-Padayon 2026 (Phase 4) today, Saturday, August 22, 2026, hosted at St. Agnes Parish in the Caloocan District.

Running from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, this diocesan consultation serves as an open, safe, and synodal platform where young leaders, ministry volunteers, and parish youth representatives voice their real-world realities, spiritual longings, and pastoral aspirations.

1. What is the Ka-Talk Series?

  • A Synodal Space for Listening: More than just a typical assembly, the Ka-Talk initiative embodies the Church’s call to synodality—walking together (paglalakbay nang sama-sama). It moves away from top-down lectures to prioritize authentic dialogue where young people share their actual struggles and insights.

  • Phase 4: Sulong-Padayon: The theme “Sulong-Padayon” captures both urgency and perseverance. Rooted in the Filipino spirit of courage (sulong) and the Visayan call to keep moving forward (padayon), this phase focuses on sustaining youth active participation and leadership amid changing cultural landscapes.

2. Key Pillars of the Diocesan Consultation

  • Grounded in Local Realities: The Caloocan District consultation brings together youth from diverse urban communities, addressing everyday challenges—from academic burnout and economic hurdles to navigating digital culture and mental health.

  • Empowering Co-Responsibility: The sessions emphasize that young people are not merely the “future” of the Church, but its dynamic present (ang ngayon ng Simbahan), actively shaping parish programs and community outreach.

  • Building Diocesan Fellowship: By gathering delegates across vicariates and parish youth ministries, the event strengthens networks of prayer, collaboration, and mutual support across northern Metro Manila.

3. Three Reminders for the Catholic Youth Today

  1. Your Voice Matters in the Sanctuary: The Church is made richer when young people bring their honest questions, creative energy, and unique perspectives to the table.

  2. Move from Conversation to Action (Sulong): Consultations find their true fruit when insights lead to active service—whether in parish liturgies, catechism, social communications, or community feeding missions.

  3. Persevere in the Faith (Padayon): When ministry work feels demanding or exhausting, anchor your heart on Christ, the true source of all strength and joy.

We unite in prayer with all the delegates, youth animators, and clergy gathering at St. Agnes Parish for a fruitful and spirit-filled diocesan consultation.
