FACT CHECK: Circulating “Memorandum Circular No. 127” on Work and Class Adjustments is FAKE

UPDATE & CORRECTION: A document circulating online claiming to be Memorandum Circular No. 127 from the Office of the President—directing alternative work and learning setups for NCR and various provinces—has been flagged as fabricated and false.

Why it’s fake:

  • False Signatory: The document lists Finance Secretary Ralph Recto as “Acting Executive Secretary.” Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin holds that office.

  • Altered Dates & Metadata: The file is an edited template using manipulated dates and recycled stamps.

Action to take: Do not share unverified memorandum scans. For legitimate weather-related class and government work suspensions, rely strictly on official advisories from your respective Local Government Units (LGUs), the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), and PAGASA. Verify before you amplify.
